Maths Tuition York

Joseph has been a fantastic tutor for our son during the 2nd year of his maths A-level. We were looking for someone to guide our son in how to study as well as build knowledge and understanding. Joseph targeted the areas requested, built confidence in knowledge and helped develop study skills. Joseph was communicative with us and built a good relationship with our son through his positive teaching style. Our son always enjoyed his Maths tutoring with Joseph and found them engaging and challenging but achievable through Joseph’s teaching. We highly recommend Joseph!

Joseph taught our son,A level maths. Our son was graded by school as unmarkable, so we asked Joseph for help. Joseph was exceptional, professional, punctual, courteous, flexible with timings and a really nice man. He worked at our son’s pace and was very patient when needed, and targeted the right work to match and always gave him work to complete for the next lesson. I have no problem in recommending Joseph at all. Our son finally passed his A level maths with a good grade C!

So pleased we found Joseph. My daughter was lacking in confidence in maths and he really helped her get to grips with things that she was struggling with in the classroom, and she's just had her GCSE results and was delighted to have passed with flying colours. And at least two grades higher than she was originally predicted. I have absolutely no doubt that Joseph's patience, skills and teaching, led directly to my daughter's confidence growing and actually enjoying, and not dreading, maths, and her doing so well in her exams. I have no hesitation in recommending and a massive thanks for the difference you have made.

Joseph is an excellent tutor who was always patient and helpful when helping with A-level maths. He was always very approachable and useful when I had any questions and helped me to progress well towards my exams.

I wholeheartedly recommend Joseph McGrady as a GCSE maths tutor. My son, who has ADHD, had been struggling with maths and was barely achieving 5s before working with Joseph. Thanks to Joseph’s excellent teaching and his ability to adapt to my son’s needs, he went on to achieve 7s and 8s in his mocks. Joseph’s approach is not only effective but also highly professional—his timekeeping, flexibility, and organisation made a real difference. He is a pleasure to work with as a parent, and my son genuinely enjoyed learning with him. On every measure, Joseph earns a 10 out of 10.

Joseph is an outstanding tutor and really improved my son's confidence in GCSE maths! He's very patient, flexible, and provided an individualised plan based on school test results and areas he found tricky in the curriculum. Now my younger son has started sessions with him as well, as I really can't think of anyone I would trust more to optimise his chances of success. Can't recommend Joseph highly enough!!

Joseph is an excellent maths tutor and helped my daughter over 2 years to prepare for her maths GCSE. He has a very patient manner and is very good at explaining how to solve difficult maths problems. He greatly developed my daughters confidence and ability during his time tutoring her. I would not hesitate in recommending Joseph to someone seeking maths tuition.
