Kip McGrath Education Centre York West provides primary and secondary maths and English tutoring. Tuition is delivered by qualified, experienced, DBS-checked teachers, using a methodology developed over 45 years in which strengths and weaknesses are regularly assessed and learning is completely individualised.
Sessions can be switched between in-centre and online delivery with a moment's notice, allowing children to continue their tuition even when circumstances change.

We’ve been with Kip McGrath for over two years now, and I honestly couldn’t recommend them more. My children absolutely love their sessions in both English and Maths. They are always fully engaged during the lessons and genuinely enjoy going, which says a lot in itself. The teachers are highly professional, supportive, and know how to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I’ve seen a real boost in my children’s confidence and progress over time. We’re very happy with the support they receive and truly value the work the team does.
My son attends Kip McGrath along side doing home education. It’s really helped his confidence. All the staff are really friendly and are brilliant at keeping you informed of progress. Highly recommend.

Lucy and Dave have got our son able to learn again after a year and half out of school with anxiety. He feels able to learn with them both being very supportive and adaptable for his needs. They are both so lovely every session and so welcoming.
Highly recommend Lucy, Dave and the rest of the team at Kip McGrath. They offer very supportive daytime sessions for home educated children (and those educated other than in school,) and they have a great understanding of anxiety, neurodiversity and other conditions which could affect these children. My daughter has made fantastic progress since starting here and feels that her tutors really understand her. She feels safe and valued and her self-confidence has greatly improved, which I feel has had the biggest impact on her ability to learn.
This is a wonderful find in the centre of Acomb, York. Lucy & Nick are such supportive tutors. My daughter went for 3 lessons, before starting school, in the summer holidays 2025. This was to help her progress with writing. Fabulous communication, via email, from both teachers. My daughter was very happy from the start and so was I!
Lucy, Luke and the tutors are Kip McGrath are so friendly and very knowledgeable. My son has improved in Maths in just a short time. Teachers at school have commented on his improvement. Highly recommend
