First Class Learning Gosforth

First Class Learning Gosforth is a private tuition centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. It provides structured worksheet-based programmes and offers a free English, Maths and Science assessment. Personalised learning programmes are in line with the national curriculum, and the centre provides bite-size daily homework. Ahsan Tariq is the Centre Manager; he holds BSc Hons, MRes, PhD, and PGCE qualifications. He has worked as a qualified teacher of science and private tutor for several years, and was recently a deputy STEM co-ordinator and private tutor within a school setting and privately.

He graduated from 4 different universities and has publications. The centre supports children and adults in the local community with both maths and English tuition. It offers Maths, English and Science tuition for KS1-5, GCSE, SATS, 9-plus, 11-plus, and 13-plus. The centre uses a 'little and often' approach with plenty of repetition and practice, and regular testing ensures progress. The centre manager will call to discuss how they can help with maths and English. An assessment determines which path is most suitable for the child, and a bespoke course of action is put together to support the child's learning.

The maths programme covers all essential areas of the school curriculum. The English programme concentrates on reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The science programme develops knowledge and skills required as part of the school curriculum, and has a proven record for improving results and encourages enjoyment in learning. The centre offers structure and daily practice with a 'little and often' approach, and develops good study habits and independent learning.

Operating from the Trinity Centre on Gosforth High Street, First Class Learning is a franchise centre where daily homework sheets form part of the core offer, something several parents describe as useful for keeping children engaged with their subjects between sessions. Regular feedback to parents is another recurring theme, with reviewers describing detailed updates on progress that help them stay informed without needing to chase the centre for information.

Two tutors are named repeatedly, Dr Ahsan and Dr Tariq, both described as knowledgeable and skilled at explaining material clearly, with one reviewer noting Dr Tariq's academic background in immunology as part of what makes the science teaching effective. Students working towards the sciences are mentioned specifically, including one account of a pupil aiming for top grades across all three science GCSEs after starting sessions at the centre.

Several reviewers describe growing confidence and ability building over a period of attendance rather than a single course, and a free assessment is mentioned as the usual starting point for new families. The centre is open every day of the week from nine in the morning until nine at night, giving families a wide window to book sessions around school and other commitments.
