Kip McGrath Professional Tuition. Newcastle North

Kip McGrath was founded in 1976 in Australia, where the first Kip McGrath Education Centre was opened by qualified teachers Kip and Dugnea McGrath in New South Wales. The company operates as a global franchise with more than 500 centres worldwide, including over 260 locations across the UK, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The Newcastle North centre is run by Brian, an experienced, qualified teacher, and all tutors are qualified teachers. Small learning groups have no more than five students per session. Kip McGrath offers tutoring in English and maths for primary and secondary school students. Kip McGrath Newcastle North offers Maths, English, GCSE, SATs, and 11+ Exam preparation, and provides a free assessment.

Gosforth families describe Kip McGrath Professional Tuition Newcastle North as a place where children who have struggled elsewhere begin to make real progress. Tutors repeatedly earn praise for identifying gaps in learning and addressing them directly, with Brian Pennock named often as a skilled and caring teacher who quickly spots weak points and strengthens them. Several customers mention the confidence their children gained, alongside improved results in English Language and maths GCSEs and SAT preparation. Regular mock exams and a teaching style that respects each child's individuality come up frequently, in contrast to what parents describe as a one-size-fits-all approach in schools.

The centre is also noted for supporting pupils with learning difficulties that had gone unrecognised, offering understanding and respect alongside expert instruction. Communication with parents and the welcoming attitude of the teaching staff are recurring themes, as is the enjoyment children report during lessons. Reviewers highlight progress from grade 2 to grade 4 in a six-week maths resit, and a rise from grade 4 to grade 6 in English Language after eighteen months of tutoring, with effort from the pupils themselves acknowledged. Lessons suit learners preparing for SATs and GCSEs, and the support extends to online tuition.
