Kip McGrath Tuition Centre Giffnock & Newton Mearns

Kip McGrath was founded in 1976 by qualified teachers Kip and Dugnea McGrath in New South Wales, Australia. The Giffnock/Newton Mearns centre is run by Louise Morton. All tutors at the centre are fully qualified, experienced teachers.

The centre offers tutoring in Maths and English for students from P2 to S6, including National 4, National 5, and Higher levels, as well as preparation for school entrance exams and standardised tests. Each 60-minute study programme is tailored to the individual student’s learning needs. Kip McGrath has over 50 years of history and more than 500 centres worldwide. Small learning groups have no more than five students per session.

Giffnock and Newton Mearns parents describe a tuition centre where children settle quickly and make steady academic progress. Several customers report that mathematics and broader schoolwork have improved notably over months and years of attendance, with one noting a child now excelling in class. Something that features in review after review is the individualised approach: pupils' needs are assessed, gaps in knowledge are tackled in an engaging and bespoke manner, and plans are adjusted accordingly. Named members of staff, including Lauren, Suzzane, Natalie and Louise, are repeatedly praised for their expertise, patience and encouragement, and for monitoring the difficulties each pupil faces.

Parents value the warm, welcoming environment and the structured support, observing that children grow in confidence and feel genuinely helped. A number of reviews mention the professional and organised running of sessions, together with the motivation pupils gain from points and awards and the ability to follow progress through a parent portal. Better performance at school is a common thread, and the friendly, encouraging attitude of the teaching team is highlighted just as consistently. Problem solving is central for many pupils, with tailored plans built around their particular struggles.
