Kip McGrath Glasgow South Education Centre

Kip McGrath Glasgow South Education Centre is a private tuition provider based in Pollokshields, Glasgow. The centre offers tuition in Maths and English from Primary through to Higher level, including National 4, National 5 and Higher, plus comprehension, reading and spelling. It uses an individualised learning plan tailored to each child, and every student receives one-to-one support from their tutor each week. All tutors are qualified teachers, and a free assessment is offered.

The centre is part of Kip McGrath, founded in 1976 in New South Wales, Australia by qualified teachers Kip and Dugnea McGrath. Kip McGrath has more than 500 centres worldwide and over 50 years of history. Lessons are personalised to each child's individual learning needs, with no more than five students per session, and both online and in-centre learning options are available. A parent portal allows progress tracking, viewing upcoming lessons and rescheduling sessions. The contact is Karen Reid.

In Shawlands, the Kip McGrath centre on Riverford Road is associated in reviews chiefly with tutor Karen, whose name comes up in almost every account left by parents over several years, alongside more recent mentions of tutor Michael for National 5 English. Families describe children moving into the centre with low confidence in Maths or English and coming away noticeably more assured, with several parents crediting Karen's teaching for improved performance at school as well as in exams. One parent whose son was thought to be below National 5 English standard describes a significant shift in both writing and reading ability after working with Michael.

Flexibility comes up more than once, with sessions available in person or online and lesson times adjusted where needed, an approach families say worked well during periods when travelling to the centre was not practical. Multiple reviewers mention children achieving A grades in National 5 and Higher Maths, and several note that pupils stop resisting the idea of attending, coming to see sessions as routine rather than a chore. Weekday after-school sessions run in the late afternoon into early evening, with additional Saturday lunchtime and afternoon slots at this Glasgow South centre.
