Kip McGrath Belfast North Education Centre

Kip McGrath was founded in 1976 by qualified teachers Kip and Dugnea McGrath in New South Wales, Australia. Kip McGrath has more than 500 centres worldwide. Kip McGrath Belfast North Education Centre provides English and maths tuition for primary and secondary school students. All tutors are qualified teachers.

Lessons are conducted in small groups with no more than five students per session. The centre offers tuition in English, reading, maths, SEAG preparation and GCSE English and maths. A free assessment conducted by a qualified teacher is available. The centre manager is Rebecca Atkinson. Tutoring is offered both in-centre and online.

Kip McGrath's Belfast North centre, on Duncairn Gardens, prepares children sitting the AQE and the GL entrance exams used for grammar school admission in Northern Ireland, alongside general subject support. The single detailed account available describes tutors Madeline and Rachel as dedicated, patient and professional, giving individual pupils time within a demanding exam preparation process rather than treating the group as a single cohort.

The reviewer's daughter attended in the lead-up to both exams and went on to achieve the results needed to secure her preferred school place, which the family credits directly to the structured support received at the centre. The centre is closed on Mondays and Fridays, opening on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from four until half past seven, and on Saturday mornings until half past two. With only limited reviews available, this account points to a centre focused specifically on transfer exam preparation rather than broader ongoing tutoring across a wide range of subjects.
