I highly recommend Claire's Tutoring. My daughter is very academic and perhaps does not fit the profile of a student needing tutoring. However, when she decided she wanted to do the 11+ 6 months before the test, Claire quickly integrated her into group sessions. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed tutor group and gained masses of confidence. She went into the 11+ very well prepared and was truly able to perform at her best. As a result, she smashed the test. Our journey with Claire started in December 2022, with a phone call inquiry to her about 11+ tutoring for our eldest daughter. Claire explained to us what she covers and we felt suitably impressed with what we heard. We've been using Claire since April 2023 to September 2025 so two and a half years, First for our eldest Daughter, and then more recently for our youngest Daughter the following year. Both our daughters started with Claire when they were in Year 4, for the "Summer Term" on a Pre-11+ Tutor Course which started in April. They then continued with Claire throughout Year 5 until the final 11+ Examination week. Claire's tutoring sessions are currently once a week, in a lovely purpose built extension of her house. The sessions are very small groups of children. Claire covers all areas of the knowledge needed for the English and Maths 11+ Examinations, including different approaches and techniques to questions and revision guides. Her experience as an ex primary school teacher shows. She provides comprehensive feedback to parents usually via Whatsapp including a voice message giving a summary of what the children have learnt during the lesson, their progress and any areas that might need reinforcement. This we found absolutely valuable as it allowed us to work in Tandem with Claire in helping reinforce some of the subjects she covered that week. Claire is also available to speak to direct one to one either in person or via telephone, whatever your preference. She is warm, friendly and easy to approach and talk to with any questions or concerns you may have. Both our girls enjoyed turning up to their lessons each week and studying under her, saying she made the learning fun, interesting and engaging in a friendly manner. If they didn't always understand a subject, she would spend time explaining the material step by step. They enjoyed her lessons so much that they were both sad to say goodbye come their final week of lessons with her. For anyone looking for 11+ Tuition for their children, We would wholeheartedly recommend Claire. She has a proven track record over many years with a very high success rate of getting children through the 11+ examination and into the Grammar Schools. Indeed, our children came 3rd and 13th respectively in their admission year groups. Her tuition rates are very competitive and she is friendly and easy to talk to and approach with any questions or concerns you may have. 100% Recommended.

Claire is a fantastic tutor. Extremely organised and keeps you updated on your child's journey and the plan ahead. My son always came home with a beaming smile and thoroughly enjoyed his lessons. Highly recommend.

Claire provided a wonderful learning environment for my child and really supported him to achieve the best he could. Claire sets up clear expectations of both parents and children and makes the sessions engaging and enjoyable for the children. My child excelled both academically and personally after a year with Claire and I don’t think we would have had such a positive response from any other tutor.
