Choice Home Tutoring Manchester West

Choice Home Tutoring was founded by Colin and Jo Murphy, a husband-and-wife team with over 30 years' experience in education. Colin Murphy is a former Assistant Headteacher at secondary school level and left teaching in 2016 to join the Choice team full time. Jo Murphy has worked as a GCSE exam moderator. Choice Home Tutoring has been featured in The Good Schools Guide since 2019 and was selected as a government-approved tuition partner for the National Tutoring Programme. The organisation delivers over 25,000 hours of tutoring per year. Anyone working with Choice Home Tutoring holds an enhanced DBS certificate and receives ongoing safeguarding training.

James Kruszelnicki has been a tutor since 2021 and has been director of Choice Home Tutoring Manchester West since 2024. Choice Home Tutoring Manchester West serves Chorlton, Stretford, Trafford, Firswood, Urmston, Flixton, Davyhulme, Hulme, Whalley Range and Moss Side. It offers in-person and online tutoring across all subjects and age groups, from primary through GCSE, A level and beyond, delivered on a one-to-one basis or as group tuition. The organisation works with schools, local authorities, agencies and charitable organisations, offering an alternative provision service.

Families seeking support across a range of subjects and year groups describe consistently strong experiences with this Manchester tutoring provider. Parents of pupils preparing for A level biology, GCSE maths and creative writing workshops report that tutors are matched carefully to each child's learning style, with lessons structured around individual needs. Several customers highlight how tutors such as Terry, Milan, Chris and Jo explain concepts clearly and patiently, helping children grow in confidence and feel comfortable asking questions.

Punctuality and courtesy come up repeatedly, as does the thoughtful planning that goes into each session, with tutors researching syllabuses and adapting weekly content to what matters most. A parent whose daughter attended a creative writing workshop notes her child now approaches stories more imaginatively. Another describes how a pupil caught up with reading and writing after school closures and looks forward to sessions. Reviewers frequently point to the supportive manner of tutors towards the whole family, and the helpfulness of staff such as James in arranging lessons, including online options.
