Toby is a brilliant tutor helped my daughter so much in her GCSEs she was predicted a 2 all throughout her years at school and left with a grade 4 by the end of year 11. Toby made a massive impact in her confidence.

Toby tutored my son in year 10 and 11 preparing him for his GCSE’s. My son has autism and had struggled with maths , lacked confidence in the subject and actually dreaded the lessons in school . I was recommended Toby from a friend . What a find he was !! We had had several tutors previously , one who said she was unable to teach my son who didn’t “fit “ into her lessons. I had completely lost faith in tutors until I found Toby . He gave my son his confidence back , he was patient and tapped into what worked for my son. I cannot recommend Toby enough. My son instantly felt comfortable and his confidence grew and Toby turned things around. Without Toby I am certain my son would not have passed his maths GCSE. The school wanted my son to take the lower paper , Toby had faith in my son and gave him the confidence to sit the higher paper . My son took the higher paper and passed with a grade 5 . This was an amazing result for my son as he had struggled for so long with the subject. Toby worked hard to ensure he could pass the paper , I am forever grateful . I would highly recommend Toby , it isn’t just a job to teach , he cares that his students reach their potential and I just wish there were more teachers like Toby in our schools !!

My son David worked with Toby for GCSE Maths and Physics. At the end of Year 10 he was on a grade 3 in Physics, yet after tutoring with Toby he achieved strong grade 8s in both subjects. During this period Toby also became a mentor, helping David build confidence in his abilities. This support was key in his decision to take Maths, Further Maths and Physics at Sixth Form with the aim of pursuing engineering, possibly aerospace engineering.
