Manor Tutoring

Manor Tutoring is a private tutoring service based in Edinburgh. It offers academic coaching that combines subject-matter tutoring with academic skills coaching to encourage student independence, metacognition, and a growth mindset. Subject tutoring is provided across all academic subjects for students of all ages, abilities, and learning styles. Tailored exam preparation is available for both the Scottish and English curricula. Executive function support includes organisation, time management, and metacognition skills. SEND/ASN tutors and executive function coaches provide personalised support for neurodivergent students, such as those with ADHD, anxiety, or dyslexia.

Academic coaches are experienced educators who help students discover and embrace their unique learning styles. Each student is carefully matched with an academic coach who fits their learning style and educational needs. Many academic coaches are experienced SEND and ASN tutors, supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other special educational or additional support needs. Manor Tutoring works in partnership with parents and school learning support teams. Lessons are available in-home, online, or at school, and progress reports are provided after each lesson. A free trial lesson is offered. Services include academic coaching, maths tuition, English tuition, and executive function support.

Beyond subject-specific lessons, this Queensferry Road service is described in several reviews as offering broader academic coaching, including help with organisation and study techniques rather than just content in a particular subject. One parent describes years spent searching for support that went past regular tutoring before finding a tutor, Douglas, credited with helping a child develop the executive function skills needed to structure schoolwork independently.

Alisz is mentioned in a separate review for supporting exam preparation and school material more generally, with a family describing a noticeable improvement in structure within a short period. History at A-level is named specifically in one account, where a master's student tutor was found at short notice, alongside praise for an online system that lets parents see notes from each session.

National 5 exam preparation is mentioned too, with one family thanking staff for matching their children with a suitable tutor during a busy exam period. Reviewers consistently describe the administrative side of the service, including how quickly a tutor is found after an initial enquiry, as well organised and responsive. The service is available from early morning until late evening every day of the week, based at Orchard Brae House on Queensferry Road.
