He has an Enhanced DBS check.

He has delivered over 700 hours of online lessons using platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Whiteboard. He offers tutoring online, in the student's home, or at his home. He teaches maths, statistics, A level, IB, GCSE, ISEB Common Entrance, National Curriculum Key Stages 3 onwards, Numeracy Skills Test, BMAT, SAT, and Microsoft Excel.

Parents seeking maths tuition for teenagers form the main clientele described in feedback for this Brighton-based private tutor. Brian Roberts is repeatedly praised for explanations that are clear and methodical, with lessons described as interesting rather than dry. The results speak for themselves: one parent reports that a predicted grade moved from C to A, and another notes that a 17-year-old daughter attending twice weekly found the teaching brilliant and the subject far clearer as a result. Prompt communication when dates and times need rearranging comes up as a strength, as does the ease of working with him.

Reviewers also mention that parking is available for pick-up, a practical detail appreciated by families. The tuition covers secondary-level maths, and the consistent theme across accounts is careful, well-structured teaching that builds genuine understanding. Every account is positive, with words such as effective, excellent and brilliant recurring. What stands out is the combination of subject expertise and a patient manner that keeps pupils engaged, alongside the flexibility shown when schedules change and the clarity of explanations that pupils credit with improving their confidence and performance in mathematics.
