What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

One-to-one maths tuition run from Pitcairn Close in Nottingham serves pupils working towards GCSE and A-level, along with adult learners preparing for numeracy tests. Parents repeatedly describe Andrew as patient and calm, someone who listens closely to where a pupil is stuck before adjusting each lesson around their needs rather than following a fixed script.

A thread running through the feedback across accounts is confidence: several mention children who had lost faith in their own ability or become anxious about exams, and who settled once sessions were under way. Clear communication with parents comes up often, alongside weekly homework set to keep learning going between lessons. Families of children with dyslexia note that explanations were adapted to suit the way their child learns, and results are cited specifically, including a move from an ungraded start to A-level maths and a top grade in a school assessment.

Lessons are offered online as well as face to face, with availability stretching across all seven days from early morning into the evening, which several reviewers say fitted around busy family and school timetables. A number of families mention returning for further support in later years, including moving from GCSE into A-level tuition with the same tutor.

Having grown concerned over my son’s attainment in maths following a period of substandard teaching, I arranged a tryout session with Andrew online which led to weekly tuition for 6 months, and growing confidence in and understanding of the subject. Just taking his GCSEs but now hopeful of a good result. He’s really appreciated Andrew’s style and I’d certainly recommend him.

Andrew tutored my son for his A level maths as at the end of year 12 he was really struggling. Andrew provided great 1-2-1 tutoring and improved my sons grade by 2 within such a short space of time. Amazing. I would use Andrew again and would highly recommend.

Fantastic tutor who I have used for 2 of my children. Both times he has got them up at least 2 grades from their mock exam grade. 100% recommend, if you are looking for a flexible, reliable and effective maths tutor.

I highly recommend Andrew Thompson, he has provided much needed support for my son over these last few months and has boosted his confidence in preparation for his maths GCSE exams. Weekly online tuition has meant that my son has found his enthusiasm again in the subject, something his school teacher was unable to do. Andrew is a calm and patient tutor and very easy to communicate with, he also provided homework to keep the momentum of learning throughout the week. I am incredibly grateful to Andrew in getting my son through this time and is in a much better place to get a decent pass. Thank you so much!

Andrew has allowed me to greatly improve both my knowledge of A level maths and the ability to score highly on key assessments. My grade has risen from an average of an E to averaging a B-A showing massive improvement. I now able to confidently approach A level maths when previously i could not. Highly recommend!!

Since being tutored by Andrew, our daughter's confidence has grown and there's been progress with her results at school. Andrew is very patient, considerate and teaches things in a way that my daughter is able to understand. We definitely recommend Andrew if you are considering tuition for your child.
