The Tuition College

The Tuition College is a learning and examination centre based in Longsight, Manchester, and has been trusted by families for over 35 years. It is a JCQ-approved Examination Centre. The Principal is named Asad. Every lesson is led by a qualified teacher, and small class sizes are used.

The college supports students preparing for the 11 Plus, GCSEs, A Levels, and adults returning to education. Over 90% of its new learners come through recommendations and word of mouth. It serves private exam candidates from across Greater Manchester and beyond.

The Tuition College, on Birch Lane in Longsight, teaches GCSE Maths and prepares children for 11+ and independent school entrance exams, with sessions running most days from morning into the evening and shorter hours over the weekend. A tutor named Mr Zaman is credited by several students with substantial grade improvement, including one who moved from a low GCSE Maths grade to being predicted a much higher one after joining partway through the course, and another tutor, Asad, is named for helping a student secure places and a bursary offer at independent schools after a summer of preparation.

Reviewers who progressed through the college describe structured lessons, a focus on exam technique and past-paper practice, and note that consistent homework is expected of students who want to see results. Set against this, one former student describes a markedly different experience, saying a tutor's manner in lessons was harsh enough to affect their confidence for some time afterwards. That account sits alongside the strong academic outcomes reported by others, so the overall picture from the available reviews is mixed rather than uniformly positive.
