Ipswich Tuition Centre

Ipswich Tuition Centre has been run under Matt Mudie's direction since 2014. Matt is an experienced maths tutor who has worked in secondary schools in Nottingham, Norfolk and Suffolk, gaining his first degree at the University of Manchester and his teaching qualification from Nottingham Trent University in 2007.

The centre opened in October 1994 and operated as Kip McGrath Education Centre until August 2011. It offers Maths, English and Science tutorials in small groups with qualified teachers, catering for primary and secondary students, including GCSE tuition, A Level resits, and A-Level English, Chemistry and Biology tuition.

GCSE preparation and subject tuition are the services families turn to this Ipswich centre for, and the accounts left by parents, grandparents and former pupils point consistently to academic improvement. Grades are described as rising, with students reaching the marks they needed and, in a number of cases, surpassing what they had thought achievable. An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the attention given to matching each learner with a suitable tutor; Matt is named repeatedly for his care towards students and his efforts to find the right fit, while Ruth is praised for patience and encouragement that helped pupils gain high grades.

Reviewers mention the professional yet supportive manner of the teaching staff and the quiet, focused environment in which sessions take place. Children are said to attend willingly and to enjoy their lessons, which families read as a sign of real engagement. Several accounts stress how tailored the provision is, shaped around the particular needs of each child rather than a fixed scheme of work. Communication with parents appears clear, with expectations understood early and progress followed over time, and the centre is credited with supporting learners both academically and personally.
