What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Families needing tuition for primary and secondary school pupils describe a tutoring service in Northampton where the named tutors Rachel and Jeremy are repeatedly praised for their approach. Several parents mention that English and Mathematics tuition, including GCSE preparation for Higher Mathematics and English Language, led to noticeable gains in confidence and understanding within a short time. Reviewers often highlight the tutors' patience, their clear explanations and their skill at adapting lessons to different learning styles and to areas where pupils felt less secure.

Communication with families is described as superb and professional, and sessions are said to be well structured, whether face to face or online. A recurring point is how thoroughly the tutors engage children, stretching those who are capable while supporting those who need more help, and setting additional practice where required. One parent notes that intensive tuition before examinations helped reduce worry during the exams themselves, while another recounts how a pupil who had been out of education for medical reasons regained confidence and caught up in both subjects. The rapport built with families emerges as a consistent theme, with children said to look forward to their lessons rather than treat them as a chore.

Rachel has been teaching both of our primary-aged children for over 18 months, and we honestly couldn’t recommend her more highly. Finding a tutor who can engage children, build their confidence, and consistently achieve fantastic results is rare, but Rachel does all of that and more. From the very first lesson, she made learning fun, engaging, and something our children genuinely look forward to every week. She has an incredible ability to connect with them, tailoring each lesson to their individual personalities and learning styles, so they always feel supported, motivated, and challenged. The progress they have made in English, Maths, and 11+ preparation has been remarkable. Their confidence has grown enormously, their academic skills have improved beyond our expectations, and they’ve developed a real enthusiasm for learning. It’s been wonderful to watch them tackle new challenges with so much more self-belief. Rachel is kind, patient, professional, and exceptionally talented at what she does. She always goes the extra mile to ensure her students reach their full potential, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about their success. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her, and she has played such an important role in our children’s education. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachel to any family looking for an outstanding tutor. She has made a lasting difference to our children, and we are so grateful for everything she has done.

We would thoroughly recommend Grangewood Education. Rachel has been fantastic at supporting our son with his work through year 6. She has stretched and challenged him in areas he was more capable but has supported him in areas he needed more help.

Jeremy started tutoring my son at the beginning of Year 11 for Higher Maths and made a huge difference to both his understanding and confidence. He's patient, engaging, and explains concepts in a way that's easy to understand. The online lessons were well structured and supportive, and my son always felt comfortable asking questions. Jeremy made sure that he focused on the areas my son felt less confident in and additional practice was provided outside of lessons, if required. Jeremy is a fantastic tutor who genuinely helps students believe in themselves. I would highly recommend Grangewood to anyone considering tutoring.

We found Jeremy and Grangewood after a disappointing English Language result in my son’s mocks. I have nothing but praise for how Jeremy has supported him. In a relatively few short weeks, he went from someone a little lost in what the subject required to someone who grew in confidence week by week. This was down to Jeremy’s patience and ability to draw out my son’s strengths. Not only did his confidence grow with English but the techniques Jeremy gave him were a great benefit to his other subjects. We’re waiting for the results to come in, but have much more belief that these will reflect my son’s efforts much more than without Jeremy’s support. I genuinely can’t recommend Jeremy highly enough.

Jeremy has tutored both of our children. They are both very different with different learning styles and both have enjoyed working with Jeremy. He adapts his style to suit the child. He has an energetic enthusiasm which appeals. He makes them want to learn more and attending the tuition session was always something they both looked forward to and never found a chore.

I used Grangewood for some last minute English GCSE tuition for my son 6 months before his exams. From the onset we received an excellent service from Jeremy. Communication was superb and professional and my son felt comfortable in the setting. He enjoyed all his face to face sessions and felt much more confident going into his English GCSE's. He is very much looking forward to letting Jeremy know the outcome of their hard work on Results Day! I would happily recommend Grangewood for educational tuition. Thank you!

I would like to start by thanking Rachel and Jeremy for their wonderful approach and easing my son with his struggles in both English and Maths. Excellent tutors who are very easy to get on with and informative, thorough and patient with their approach. They had helped my son achieve higher grades in a very short space of time and I would highly recommend to everyone!!!
