English Tuition Cambridge

Ildiko was a brilliant tutor for my son. He struggled with GCSE English language and literature during Year 10. Ildiko took the time to understand what he struggled with and what would engage him. Over the course of an academic year I watched him grow in confidence under her supervision. She took great care to adapt her tutorials to his needs, and persisted when he found something challenging. Her methods are engaging and encouraging, and amazingly effective. My son's grades improved from a 3 and a 4 in his Year 10 mocks to a 7 and 9 in his actual GCSEs. He and I are very grateful to her; she is a brilliant teacher.

We approached Dr Ildiko Csengei in August 2025 to provide English tuition for our son, who was then 15 years old. Following his Year 10 summer exams, he had achieved a Grade 5 and was about to begin Year 11, with only a few months remaining before his mock examinations. During our initial consultation, Dr Csengei quickly identified both his strengths and the areas requiring improvement, and outlined a clear strategy to help him progress from a Grade 5 to at least a Grade 8. Tuition commenced at the end of August, with one hour-long session each week. What impressed us most was Dr Csengei’s ability to tailor her teaching to our son’s individual needs, learning style and interests. Her lessons were engaging, motivating and highly effective. The results have been outstanding. In his mock examinations, our son achieved a Grade 8, missing a Grade 9 by just two marks, and he is now predicted to achieve a Grade 9 in his IGCSE English examinations. However, the impact of Dr Csengei’s tuition extends far beyond exam results. She inspired in him a genuine love of literature and poetry, to the extent that he has even begun writing poems himself. She also transformed his confidence in English, which has had a positive effect on his wider academic development. We are incredibly grateful to Dr Csengei for her dedication, expertise and encouragement. We would not hesitate to recommend her to any parent seeking exceptional English tuition and support for their child.
