Dave has demystified GCSE maths for my child. He’s gone from struggling with the subject to being motivated to want to try for an A / A star. Dave breaks down complicated concepts for his students and ensures that they understand the topic. The group sizes work well and the offer of exam prep has helped boost my child’s prep before the 3 papers. We signed our daughter up for online group maths tutoring in year 10 after she moved down a set in year 8 and absolutely hating maths to the point of misery. We thought we'd give it a try as it couldn't get worse. At first our daughter hated the idea and week 1 we had to literally sit her in front of the laptop and sign her in then run away! After 2 or 3 sessions she was joining willingly, then conceded it might actually be helping. She admitted she liked the sessions and wanted to keep going. Her maths confidence and skill improved so much she started doing maths problems at home for fun, teaching her little brother and getting fantastic grades. In year 11 she announced she was sad maths was going to be ending, and decided to sit Additional Maths GCSE. Beyond our wildest imagination our daughter decided she is going to study maths A-level in September, and asked if her tutor lessons can continue. While we can't credit all of this fantastic change in confidence and love of maths to her tutoring alone, I definitely know that it helped enormously, and without it, our daughter would not have achieved so much, so it was worth every penny! We won't hesitate to sign up our son when the time comes, if he looks like he's struggling. Thank you Dave for making such a difference to our daughter's maths education; it's enabled her to dream big for university options in a couple of years time.

My daughter, Brooke, has been very honest recently about how much she struggles with Maths. This was apparent following results of a mock exam early in Year10 (Oct 2026). To support Brooke’s school based learning, we were lucky enough to book a block of lessons to improve specific gaps in her understanding of maths. Brooke has struggled to attend school at times due to her worries at the thought of sitting exams. With Dave’s help, Brooke was able to not only able to attempt her recent GCSE Maths exam, but to exit the exam with a smile, and confidence to talk about how she thought the paper went.
