InFluent Tutoring

InFluent is a language tutoring service offering 1-1 support in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and more, across tuition levels spanning primary school (ages 5-10), secondary school (11-17) and adult education (18-25+). It provides exam preparation support for secondary and university students.

Tutors include Helena Newton, an experienced language tutor and former Head of Department specialising in French and Spanish, and Romy Pollex, a native German speaker with 7 years of teaching experience.

Families arranging GCSE language tuition for their children make up much of the feedback for this Bolton provider. In French and Spanish exam preparation, several accounts note pupils improving by two grades or reaching the results they had targeted, sometimes after only a short series of sessions. Named tutors are singled out for particular credit: Roxana is praised for patience and for planning lessons around what each learner needs, with games and varied teaching methods helping to build confidence in spoken French and Arabic, while Helena is described as giving sustained support through a pupil's course and keeping students engaged with the subject.

Something that features in review after review is the balance between encouragement and challenge, which parents say stretched learners without overwhelming them. Adults learning Arabic and Spanish describe their own lessons as enjoyable, interactive and thorough, and several note their eagerness to move on to another language. Reviewers also highlight the standard of tuition, the tailored materials and the clear improvement in both grades and conversational fluency.
