Focus Maths and Science tutoring

Focus Maths and Science tutoring is run by Usman Ghani, a Master's graduate in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bradford, awarded a Gold Medal and a fully-funded scholarship. He has over 10 years of tutoring experience and is DBS checked.

One-to-one home tuition is delivered across Oxford and Oxfordshire, covering primary school and 11+ entrance preparation through to GCSE, A-Level and university level, including focused GCSE and A-Level exam preparation for the Edexcel, AQA and OCR exam boards.

Oxford-based tuition in mathematics and science is delivered by Usman, whose name surfaces consistently across feedback as the driving force behind students' progress. Reviewers often describe him as knowledgeable and patient, with an approach that responds closely to what each learner needs. A point made in several accounts is the tailored nature of sessions, which draw on past papers when preparing for GCSE examinations. Improvement is a recurring theme: pupils moving from foundation to higher tier, growing in confidence, and reaching the grades they were targeting.

Parents speak of long-standing arrangements, one lasting roughly eight years from year five through to GCSE completion, and attribute the academic gains to his commitment and patience. Reliability, trustworthiness and flexibility feature regularly, as do clear explanations that render difficult topics straightforward. Both subject areas are covered, with examination preparation central to the work. Families note the confidence their children developed and the thorough, steady teaching behind it, while one student records simply that the marks needed were achieved.
